Loved on Social 🤎
This is the piece I spend the most time on - every strand of the braid woven over and under by hand, the tension kept even all the way around so the pattern stays true. I made this for the people whose ankles and legs have been carrying them for decades without complaint, who need their circulation to keep up with lives that don't slow down.
There's something about the weight of this piece against the ankle - substantial, present - that people either notice immediately or come back to tell me about later. The ones who wear copper consistently say the same thing: they stopped noticing what they used to notice.
This is one of the last anklets I'll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope it finds the ankle that's earned it.
Pure copper is not magnetic. The vast majority of copper jewellery sold online is plated (a thin copper coating over a cheaper metal like steel or brass) or alloyed with enough iron or nickel to make it magnetic. It’s the fastest way to spot a fake.
The test is simple:
- Grab any fridge magnet
- Hold it against your bracelet, ring or necklace
- If it sticks, even slightly, it isn’t pure copper
- If it doesn’t stick, you’re holding the real thing
Every piece we make is 99.9% pure copper, never plated, never alloyed with cheap metals. Run the test the day it arrives. If it fails, we’ll refund you immediately.
